A. Wayne Buras is a partner at the firm of Jones Fussell, L.L.P., in Covington, Louisiana. Wayne received a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from Southeastern Louisiana University, and his Juris Doctorate in 1975 from the Louisiana State University Law School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Following a judicial clerkship in the 22nd Judicial District Court in St. Tammany Parish, he began the practice of law in St. Tammany Parish, joining the firm of Jones Fussell in the year 1990.
Wayne’s practice is primarily based in business transactions, representation in banking transactions, entity formations, planning and zoning, and real estate development. Wayne is a licensed title insurance agent representing First American Title Insurance Company and Chicago Title Insurance Company, and in connection therewith has closed numerous large commercial transactions for multiple lenders, including, but not limited to, shopping centers, multi-family housing developments, storage facilities, hotels, and real estate developments. He also represents local financial institutions and clients in real estate investments and business opportunities.
Wayne routinely provides counseling, drafting, and representation for clients in formation of business entities, business sales and combinations, acquisitions, real estate leases and purchase agreements, development agreements, and representations before public bodies regarding planning and zoning.
Wayne is actively involved as a member/manager of commercial entities engaged in business endeavors in St. Tammany Parish and is a member of the executive committee of the Northshore Business Council.
