Calvin P. Brasseaux

Calvin P. Brasseaux has been a partner with the firm since 1999, where he concentrates his practice in the areas of corporate, securities, finance, intellectual property, employment law, and general business. He is rated AV by Martindale Hubbell, the highest legal ability and ethical rating afforded by that service.
He has extensive experience representing clients in public offerings and private placements of debt and equity securities and venture capital transactions, merger and acquisition transactions that involve the purchase and sale of businesses of all sizes, sophisticated commercial and residential real estate acquisitions, development, financing, and leasing, and the formation of limited liability companies, corporations, limited partnerships and joint ventures. He also has experience in various intellectual property matters, including software licensing and state and federal trademark licensing, as well as health care and employment law.
He is Past Chairman of the Louisiana State Bar Association Section of Corporate and Business Law and is also a member of the Federal Regulation of Securities Committee of the Business Section of the American Bar Association.
Mr. Brasseaux graduated from Louisiana State University Law School in 1983, where he was Order of the Coif and a member and editor of the Louisiana Law Review.
Before joining Jones Fussell, L.L.P., Mr. Brasseaux practiced for 15 years with the firm of Stone, Pigman, Walther, Wittmann & Hutchinson, L.L.P. in New Orleans, Louisiana. Prior to joining Stone, Pigman, Walther, Wittmann & Hutchinson, L.L.P. he served for one year as a law clerk to the Honorable Albert Tate, Jr. on the United State Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. |
